With Father's Day coming up this week, some
customers are deciding that a gift box from Fruition fits
the bill for a gift that won't be the wrong size or color.
For fresh fruit fanatics there are plenty of "fruit-
full"
gifts, and for those with a sweet tooth or who to love to
snack, there are quite a few food and fruit boxes as
well. Would you like a custom gift? Give us a call
and we'll help you design it!
Thanks for reading The Fruit Connection. We hope
you'll enjoy this issue's recipe and a new

What's In Season for Summer? |
|
According to www.fruitsandveggiesmorematters.org,
there are PLENTY of produce items available
throughout the Summer (June, July, August).
Believe it or not, I had to go look up one of the
items: "Olallieberries".
From
www.wisegeek.com: "Olallieberries are large, shiny,
juicy berries in the bramble family. They are most
commonly compared to blackberries, and they are
closely related to blackberries. However, they have a
more intense, tart flavor, and a very brief growing
season. Olallieberries are most widely cultivated
along the West Coast of the United States, specifically
in California, and are a coveted treat while fresh. They
can also be found frozen and in the form of preserves
such as jams and jellies". I guess we learn
something new every day!

Chesapeake Bay-by Box |
|
One of the Fruit Lady's goals this year is not
connected to fruit, but I figured out a way to combine
my passion for produce with my dedication to
environmental matters. Having been lucky enough to
spend summers on the Bay and regretting its decline,
I joined the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. For non-
Maryland readers, it may interest you to know that CBF
is also committed to enhancing the health of waters in
DC, VA, PA and DE.
Inspired by the latest "Save the Bay" magazine, I will
donate $2.00 to CBF for every "Chesapeake Bay-
by"(C) Gift Box sold. So keep this nifty gift in mind
when you want to send congratulations to new
parents, and help save the bay at the same time!
For more information on how you can help save
the bay, visit www.cbf.org

Fruition "About Town" |
|
On June 2, Fruition participated in Essential Family
Chiropractic's "Canned Food Drive and Open House".
The event successfully collected more than 400 non-
perishable food items for a local organization that
helps the hungry in our area. It was fun getting to visit
with Dr. Eric Lindsell's patients and sharing some
information on the health benefits of fresh fruits and
vegetables. If you are putting on a health-related event
and would like Fruition to be a part of it, please let us
know!
June 28th is Network Referral Group's quarterly
Summit, and Fruition plans to be there. This
tradeshow is typically attended by about 400-500
business people.
Please come visit our
table, where we'll have information about the "Fruit4U"
program (healthy snacks for offices), fresh fruit fund-
raisers for schools and non-profits, and our gift
service. Please stop by and say "hi" to the Fruit Lady's
Mother!
